I love sweet potatoes and any potatoes in general, but you know how it is too many carbs, too much oil, too many calories, blah blah blah. So after seeing a show on "Hungry Girl" where she used a Krinkle cutter to cut up butternut squash into Krinkle cut fries, then tossed them in oil and some of her favorite herbs with a little bit of brown sugar, then layed them out on a cookie sheet into a 400 deg oven till they were browned and delicious, I was sold.

I just had to have one and let me just say I love it! I don't know why the Krinkles work on vegetables, but they seem to hold the oil and seasoning very well. The Cutter is very sharp but very easy to use, just make sure you cut on a wooden board and not your counter tops or you may have to repair the dings. Oh also, it's probably safer if you find a place to hang it rather than throw it in one of your kitchen drawers. Like I said it is quite sharp and you don't want Krinkle cut fingers, if you know what I mean.

I love it not just for butternut squash; the sweet potato fries are amazing done this way in the oven too.

The Krinkle Cut Potato and Vegetable Cutter is good for straight cuts of veggies, soaps, and the like. But, because the ridges are so shallow, it is not able to make waffle cut fries at all. I would recommend ordering the OXO Crinkle cutter for making waffle fries. Otherwise, good quality, probably the largest width of any krinkle cutter. Seems to be susceptible to dings if used on a hard surface, should use on soft wooden cutting board.

I love to eat butternut squash, but wondered if I needed a chain saw to cut into them. This Krinkle Cutter does what my strongest cleaver could not do: glides through the rock hard butternuts without my risking life or limb. Strength is still required to push down into the squash, but applying pressure succeeds in cutting down through the squash. This cutter is sharp and strong, i.e., it doesn't wiggle or twist when using. The waves of the "krinkles" are not too close together or too shallow as I see it. It most certainly looks nothing like a straight cut. I'm quite pleased with this strong sharp cooking tool.

this is quite large...it is hard to handle...kind of clumsy.. hard to get an accurate cut..it is made very nice

I read reviews for just about every crinkle/serrator cutter sold on Amazon and they all seem to have shallow crinkles. I selected this one because many reviewers said it is sharp while others were too dull.

I make homemade spicy garlic pickles. Best pickles ever. I wanted crinkled edges like the store bought ones. As noted by other reviewers the crinkles are shallower than I would like but it still beats a straight cut pickle slice. I also make HOT spicy garlic pepper eggs. Best egg salad ever. I look forward to using this slicer to chop the carrots, pepper and onions when I make the next batch.

It is sharp and you can chop up large veggies. It is easy to push straight down on this handle vs off to the side like a knife. I would like more crinkle but I am happy with this purchase.
