I have many Messermeister knives and this is a great upgrade to the previous Messermeister oyster knife I had.
I ordered two of these prior to going oyster picking in the Hood Canal. Got 6 dozen Pacific (Tekui Point) oysters, a dozen of which were the jumbo variety(7-11 inches long!), and a couple dozen LaFramage oysters. The knife worked very well, especially on the jumbo/giant oysters which were tough nuts to crack. The sturdy blade and large solid handle allowed me to apply the necessary torque to open the big oysters. The blade felt a little thick for the smaller LaFramage oysters, but I was able to open them with ease.
