BOSKA Holland Taste Dutch Cheese Knife

Boska Holland Taste Collection Dutch Cheese Knife for Semi Hard and Hard Cheese, 5.91 InchUp front: I got this knife as part of a set that is selling for close to the same price and urge you to check it out before making a final purchase decision: Boska Holland Explore Cheese Set.

The dual handle design and very sharp blade make this perfect for cutting very hard cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano.

I consider the main feature to be the blade, which is shaped to cut through harder cheeses without crumbling it. Also, even after a lot of use the blade retains its sharpness.

Another plus is the safe design of this particular knife. The two handles allow you to positively control the cut of even the hardest cheese without the blade slipping. Most single-handle knives tend to slip or skew on hard cheeses and have been known to cut more than the cheese.

Also, like the rest of the design the handles are well thought out in that they have an ergonomic fit to your hand and are nicely constructed. I am guessing that they are made of mahogany, but could be wrong.

This is definitely the cheese knife to have if your tastes run toward the harder cheeses.

This knife looks like a tiny farm implement but it is a very accurate and strong cheese knife. Tough enough for a big block of Manchego, accurate enough to trim only the plastic "rind" off the cheese with no error. I highly recommend this knife for anyone who loves cheese.

Received this knife from Culture magazine and Boska, along with some cheese for testing from Emmi. This knife feels nice in your hand and rocks easily for slicing due to the dual handles. Cuts uniformly, whether its cubes or triangles. This is the best quality of this knife. The most challenging part is finding a good way to store it. Doesn't fit in a block or on a magnetic strip, and hanging it can prove dangerous. I've resorted to putting in a drawer, but fear it will dull quicker.

I probably already have too many knives, so I was pretty skeptical about this knife when I got it for review from Boska, Emmi, and Culture magazine. It's actually nice for slicing cheese, and the wooden piece on the nose makes it easy to hold and rock and make a fairly even cut through a piece of cheese.

For the price, it's a nice item.

My one gripe is finding a good place to store this. Obviously you can't slide it into a knife block, and it because of the width of that wooden end piece it doesn't hang on my magnetic knife rack. I'm sure I'll find a safe place to tuck it away, though.

When I first saw this knife I thought it was a really odd shape and wasn't quite sure that I would like it. Turns out that this knife is great. Use the rocking motion to cut through really hard cheeses easily. Other reviewers have used it for other foods and now I'll have to try that too. Culture Magazine, Boska and Emmi sent me this knife to review.
