I had high hopes for this item and was looking forward to receiving it, however when I did receive it, there's a huge crack down the middle of the board starting from the narrow end, running to the middle of the board. If that wasn't bad enough we found that the knives were warped and did not fit in the rest / holder on top as described. If we bent it out slightly it did fit, but doesn't remain that way when you remove it, so the setting is warped. We were going to return it and ask for a replacement, but my husband felt that he could maybe repair the damage rather than trying to worry with sending it back since we both have busy schedules and don't have time to do all that. I would think this would be a very nice item to have it is much bigger than it looks in the preview picture. If it hadn't been damaged I would have probably rated this a 4 star at least.

This little mezzaluna does what it should: provides a small space to do small chopping tasks. The side opposite where the chopper is stored is slanted so that chopped ingredients can easily slide into the bowl, soup pot, or what have you. Be careful not to overload it's made for small jobs. Did I mention that it's small?

It looked like it would make chopping herbs so much easier. The not-very-sharp blades actually bruise rather than cut through herbs. I was able to use it for chopping nuts.
