Wild Eye Designs is aptly named for its innovative and eye appealing products. I have some of the bistro serving pieces which the young folks (grandchildren) adore. When I saw this free-standing spreader (last one in stock when I ordered it) I thought it would be the hit of the party. It was the hit, but the blade which appears smooth as spreaders should be had a sharp edge near the tip. Since they are hand-made, apparently the quality control was not on duty the day this one was crafted. A rating of one star seemed mean since the artist's idea was great, only the execution of the actual knife was shoddy.

Two stars seemed as fair as possible given the possible hazard of cutting oneself. I do recommend the spreader in the hopes that the one you receive will be s m o o t h .

I have this knife next to my butter dish in the kitchen and the counter never gets smudged anymore. I'm very happy with the product.

LOVE this and it goes well on the table with the Standing cheese knife!! Conversation piece yet so practical. The little balls in the design move ...to my surprise...so it's SO artistic!! LOVE IT. Buy the cheese knife with it for a lovely table set.

This product is the bomb. Put the butter dish on the table along with the "The Butter Boss" and forget about putting a knife at all the place settings. Naturally, if you were having a very formal dinner you would still want a knife at each place setting, however, I'd still have the "Butter Boss" on the table too.
