Stone River 2-Piece Santoku/Parer with Black Ceramic Blade

I've had this set for about a month. I also have two stainless steel sets with far more knives. Except for the steak knives in the stainless sets, I use these two knives more than any of the others. They cut meat effortlessly and cleanly. The santoku slices blocks of cheddar better than anything I've used before.

Please remember, however, they are neither screwdrivers nor pry bars. They are brittle compared to metal blades. Use them as knives. Period.

I bought these Stone River ceramic knives hoping they would be useful instead of the Kyocera ceramic knives I usually use. They cost about half as much. But they don't cut it--literally. They are not nearly as sharp and they dull much more quickly. And for my hand, they are too small. In chopping down, I have to hold my hand with the cutting board at the edge of the counter or my hand hits the board or edge. The paring knife is a bit better because its small size is what you expect with that kind of knife.

Good sharp, very light and decent design. These blades have worked very well for simple vegetables and meats. However, for the price of these, my money would have definitely been better spent on the quality of J.A. Henckels knives, which have never failed me in the past.
