Sorry I have never written a bad review before but I think the manufacturer should know and fix the problem. This is a cute peeler and it works well. I was disappointed with the point on the top. I had hoped it was ceramic like the blade but it is not.

I bought this peeler because I had a ceramic peeler (purchased at A&P) that I loved but that broke. I was hoping for a more durable one. I'm not sure yet how durable this one is, because I haven't yet used it more than once. But it is NOT a good peeler. You would think they would have tested the design before manufacture, but either they didn't or they didn't care. If you look at the picture, you see that the blade is held inside a kind of cylindrical shell, which shell has a pointed protrusion, apparently for removing "eyes" from potatoes. The difficulty is, that the protrusion, and even the shell itself, constantly hit the item you are peeling before the blade does, and in fact they PREVENT the blade from touching the potato or other item at most slicing angles, so that the peeler only words if you hold it at a specific angle to the vegetable and pull in a specific direction. The blade itself may be OK, but there was much too much work involved in getting the vegetable peeled. Ceramic peelers in general seem to hold an edge longer than the metal ones, but try a different style. This one's a bust.Read Best Reviews of Slice 00132 Ceramic Blade Y-Peeler, Green Here
I was skeptical about this product when I purchased it. Generally speaking, products that have an artsy look to them tend to be of poorer quality, because manufacturers put all the budget into style rather than function. This Slice Y-Peeler held completely true to that theory. It is beyond a doubt the cheapest, worst peeler I've ever held in my hand. The ceramic blade is held onto the unit by a piece of plastic that is barely thick enough to hold the blade, and sure enough it snapped in half the 3rd time my wife used it (peeling potatoes). Even when it was working, my wife says it doesn't work nearly as good as a $2 generic peeler we got at Target. She was constantly fighting with it, and had to scrape and scrape over and over, in order to get it to peel anything. Run away from this peeler and anything else made by Slice. Total junk!
