MIU France Set of 4 Round Tip Jumbo Knives

MIU France Set of 4 Round Tip Jumbo KnivesThey're gigantic but the whole family can use them for easy cutting. We've had them a few months and they're holding up.

I've been wanting a serrated steak knife set for a while. After looking at MANY knives offered on here as well as other sites, I finally decided on these. They really aren't the style I was looking for, but for the price and the fact they can be tossed in the dishwasher were the deciding factors. Plus I was getting weary of the search.

"Jumbo" is a really good description. They are as big as a kitchen knife--a rather imposing implement alongside a dinner plate. Think old-school steakhouse knife, and you get the picture.

But, they are useful for other things--like slicing tomatoes, or rolls, or other things where a small, serrated blade comes in handy...and I like that. I'm not a fan of 'one-use' products.

I'm also not the type to freak out over a spot or two on a blade as other people. If it's a carbon blade, you are guaranteed spots and rust. It's carbon steel for christ's sake--get some information on it. Don't blame the manufacturer for making something out of a product that is universally-known to rust. It just does. So make sure you wash and immediately DRY the blade on carbon products.

These, I am sure, are not the top-of-the-line stainless steel used in other expensive knife blades. I mean, you get what you pay for. I am sure that over time, and the harshness of the dishwasher cleaners, they will pit, mark and possibly rust. But I will bet I will get a good few years out of them, as I'm not using them every single day.

Overall, I think these are a decent knife. Well priced for what they are. Heavy, good grip, and dishwasher safe. For now.
