Messermeister 6-Inch Cheese and Tomato Knife

I've had this knife as part of a Messermeister collection for about 14 years. I LOVE this knife and use it more than any other. Yes it slices cheese easily. Super thin or thick, your choice. But I use it on so much more: apples, tomatoes, meat, bread, hard salami, onions. It's not a heavy blade, like a chef, so I don't use it on heavy mass items, but when I want a controlled, thin slice of anything, this is my knife. It's serrated and has never lost it's sharpness. I LOVE this knife.

I loved my first one which lasted 8 years so much I had to replace it with a new one. This knife makes slicing tomatoes and hard cheeses extremely easy. Plus, the pointed ends come in handy for taking out the stem area on the tomato. A must have in the kitchen!

My friend recommended a "cheese knife". Frankly, I had no idea there was such a thing. I have always used a cheese slicer with the little wire and have been perfectly happy except trying to find it in the cupboard when I want to use it. This knife worked great, the open areas are to allow less "grab" on the cheese and easier slicing. A bit flimsy for my taste. But the price more than makes up for that. Have you looked at some of the prices for the professional ones? I like this one just fine....
