It is important to realize that these are hand-made knives, and that there may be some minor defects with them. Scratches on the blade, the blade fitting too snugly, making it difficult to open, marks from the tongs which held the blade, black residue left over from when it was being made, etc. That being said, most of these issues can be corrected with a little work on your part.

However, these are some very beautiful and well-made knives. The San Mai steel creates a beautiful contrast, and the blades are incredibly sharp right out of the box. I personally carry the large size one almost everywhere I go, and I prefer it to knives which cost far more.

If you're willing to put up with or correct a few cosmetic issues which these knives often seem to have, I would definitely recommend picking a few up. I loved the ones I bought enough that I immediately ordered a few more upon receiving them.

I own several knives, from assisted openers to folders and switchblades, but for the money, these are the most utilitarian knives in my collection. They are the ones I'm not afraid to scratch, dull, or ruin because two minutes on the sharpening wheel, a minute on the wire wheel, and a little oil to coat, and they are as good as new again. Can be sharpened to a razor over and over again.

I ordered these knifes on the 23rd and they were here on the 28th. I'm very impressed with the quality my only disappointment is that they are not in brass my handles were stainless or some kind of steel. But other than that they are amazing.
