Excellent looking knife for the price. Very happy with the edge and how it cuts so far. Be sure to not wash in dishwasher but by hand. Looks very nicely built. Did I mention the price!Of the three knives I purchased (all Ginsu), this one seems to be the best. It's easier to handle than the 8" versions, it's sharp, and my wife really likes it as it fits her hand better. The scalloped edges take some getting used to, as opposed to the original Ginsu that did not have scalloped edges, but was, and is still, very sharp. I wish Ginsu still made the original Ginsu knife that we purchased 10+ years ago. It's still very sharp, doesn't rust or stain, and is dishwasher safe. Chopping was much easier with the older Ginsu, as opposed to the new one where you have to use a 'sawing' action in order to cut/chop with it. Time will tell on this knife as to whether is stays sharp, and rust/stain free.Buy Ginsu Essential Open Stock Series Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel 6-InchChef's Knife 5101 Now
Most chef knives are longer but this 6-inch knife is like perfect for everything I need to do. I don't struggle to cut veggies. Slices meat with ease. Strong and strudy and very sharp. The handle fits like a glove. Oh where have you been little wonder of a knife. This knife will not disappoint. The size and sharpness is what makes this knife the best knife I've owned in years.this was a christmas present for my fiance and when i recieved it.he loved it.he always wanted a ginsu knife.I thought this six-incher might be a good complement to the big Ginsu knife set. Glad I bought it as it gets the most use in the kitchen. Handier than the standard 8-incher for most situations, it's my favorite chefs' knife.
