Shun TDMS0300 Premier Knife Starter Set, 3-Piece

My wife loves these for their sharpness, handling and looks. The blades are really ultra thin. Its more obvious than I imagined when they were ordered. If you do not take well care of your knives they can easily end up with a broken tip as someone here said. So they are probably not for everyone. I took one star of due to relative utility: they are vulnerable in the wrong hands and frankly, you can find other high end kitchen knives that cut as well. But they look super and makes their owner happy every day and that's also worth something!

These knives look sexy as hell but be very careful,they are not for anything but slicing. I had mine for 1 day and broke the utility knife on a carrot;yes a carrot. I have been a chef for 30 years and wanted a high-end set for my home. I had not planned on cleaning racks of lamb or splitting lobsters but you would hope a knife could handle a carrot.On the fence about sending them back for Globals. Again,razor sharp but VERY thin & brittle.

Seriously sharp !!! A touch will cut you. Melts through meat and vegetables with virtually no pressure and is quite nice to hold. Very thin blades not made for "hacking" but for slicing. Fit and finish were perfect on all 3 knives in both sets I purchased. Holds an edge longer than any knive I've used but still needs a light touchup after a lot of veggie cutting. My Henkels and others are clubs by comparison.
