I live in a cheap mudular (oops--Freudian slip there) house and the kitchen's drawers and shelves were designed by a stingy person. I am delighted that this knife block fit into a drawer in the kitchen without any need to apply a hacksaw. I splurged on good knives and I feel I'm doing right by 'em since I got this proper knife block.
