Guy Fieri ER34 Knuckle Sandwich Beast Meat Cleaver, 6-1/2-Inch Blade

Guy Fieri ER34 Knuckle Sandwich Beast Meat Cleaver, 6-1/2-Inch BladeThis thing is a beast. It is well balanced and extremely comfortable to use. The weight in proportional to the grip, meaning, it does not feel likes its going to fall out of your hands (not front heavy). The blade is extremely sharp and well made. I have used it a few times now and can't see any dings on edge.

I was looking at many other meat cleavers for the purpose of shredding pork or chicken. I almost considered buying the cheaper $20-30 cleavers that Amazon sells, but after see what people DIDN'T like about those, I'm glad I bought this. Most complaints about the cheaper knives is the feel, weight, and edge integrity. Even some of the cheaper "name brand" knives had these same complaints.

The Cleaver does not falter in any of those areas, including price. For what your getting this knife could easily be worth $100+, and I would be willing to bet, it would compete nicely with the Shun's at $200+.

Look, I love cutlery. I probably own 20 kitchen knives, each with their own purpose. The one knife I didn't have was a cleaver. I own mainly Shun, Global and a few Wusthofs. I would rank this up there with one of my go to blades now. It is extremely versatile and can be used for more than just chopping and destroying animals. You will not regret the purchase.

sturdy and sharp i like the design and the flames are cool too, arrived quickly, i recommend this cleaver, great for chopping ribs.

I got this cleaver for myself because I like to have fresh young coconuts.

you NEED a cleaver to open them properly.

a cheap dollar store cleaver did an ok (read hack up) job so

i did me some lookin....

after reading reviews i opted for this BEAST

(my big knife set is german made and i honestly didn't feel the need to own a 200-300 cleaver--i'm not a butcher and if i need to murder an intruder...well...lets hope that never happens)

the BEAST is pretty

i'm a girly girl and it's substantial, sweet looking and pretty sexy actually

it fits well in my hand

BUT THE TRUE TEST....will it EASILY crack the top of a coconut with minimal effort?

YES.

ABSOLUTELY.

i hope the edge will hold up. (can't tell till it gets used more) but i am impressed enough in the weight, design and form/function of this knife to write it up

and

give it 5 stars.

need a cleaver to do some stuff? this is a no brainer buy!

JUST WATCH OUT FOR YOUR FINGERS!

ten. all good.

Great knifeif you need a cleaver do not hesitate! The knife is super sharp and feels really nice in my hand, I carved up an oven roaster in under a minute for smoking and this baby cut through the backbone no problem, didn't use my shears at all! Great looking knife too, all around worth the moneyI am thinking of gettiing some more of this series as I am so impressed by this.

My husband came home with this junky set of knives with half tang, stamped Chinese steel in hollow plastic handles. I know they're a safety hazard having had a half tang knife handle break off in my hand once upon a time. I also have professional experience with poor quality control of the metallurgy of Chinese steel. A blade snapping in half is also an experience I've had and regretted. Thankfully, most of these "new treasures" are taking up space in my kitchen drawers, but he LOVES his new cleaver. It's only a matter of time before he injures himself. So I looked for a nice quality cleaver that would last the "next 27 years" of our marriage but not break the bank. This cleaver is super heavy, balanced and sharp with more than enough forged German steel to hone for yearsl. Look, I'm not a "super chef" that can compare this with a Wusthof or Henckel and I'm not thrilled with the obnoxious red and black with stars handles. But I can tell you this cleaver will be around much longer than we will and the funky curve in the handle actually lends a lot to a feeling of blade control. Most importantly, I won't need to "lurk around the corner" waiting for my dear husband to cut something (on his person) off. When he gets his hands on this, he'll grin from ear to ear!
