This is a perfectly fine chef's knife. For general use I prefer a 10-inch straight edge chef's knife. I do keep my knifes razor sharp, but I still prefer to use a serrated knife for tomatoes. This is where this beauty comes in play, it works awesomely well. This knife also dubs as an excellent bread knife, and I like to use it for cutting hard cheese. The price is right, you really have not much to loose if you get one. Just watch out, it is wickedly sharp out of the box.

I've tried all kinds of name brand expensive knives, but this is hands down the best performing in my kitchen.

The micro-serrated edge really grabs what you're cutting, and you get get really precise, thin slices.

Mincing, small dice, no prob.

It slices through semi frozen food like butta!!

I recommend this knife to anyone.

In fact, it's so sharp, I sliced the nails off my left and middle index fingers!

Bought this for my mom because her old 7-8in knife was dull and the handle was almost completely gone (she's had since before I was born) and this has been a great replacement. I was skeptical on getting a wavy edge knife but after researching some more, it felt like it would be a good idea and it has been. It cuts through things like it was butter and makes chopping and slicing a breeze. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great knife. It's a very handy, usable size, sharp, and a good weight. It's perfect for slicing meats, such as ham or a firm roast. It is also a good size for chopping vegetables or nuts. It is dishwasher safe but I would hand wash is just to avoid dulling. If you don't have hundreds to invest in quality knives, this is a nice, reasonable alternative. I am very pleased with my purchase of this, the paring knife set, and the 4-1/2-Inch Round Tip, Wavy Edge Knives I've recently bought. Watch for deals and dropped prices and I think you will be too.
