Oster FPSTCN1300 Electric Can Opener, Stainless Steel

Received this item on the 19th of November, was shipped and arrived to us in about a weeks time, the stainless look really blended in well with our kitchen and appliances, and as you know,there's always a "but" :)

After about one week, unfortunately on Thanksgiving Day, the cutting blade would recess to far up for any can to be opened. The only thing that keeps the blade from pushing up inside the can opener is a welded little notch on the cutting blade that when a can is to be punctured is supposed to catch and not allow it to recess any further in. I'm not sure if that notch was just made to small or what, but anytime we tried to open a can it would not puncture and just push up inside. That is the reason for only two stars, trying to be fair and see if the next one is any better.

So at this time, we're sending it back for a replacement, hopefully this one will work much better and longer. We will try to do a follow up on the new one once we've had it for awhile and put it through the test.

I HATE this can opener. It doesn't open cans. It's a torture device. And it falls apart constantly. The stupid lever that holds the magnet keeps slipping out. Now today, the magnet fell off the lever and it won't stay in. This is the most frustrating device I have ever come across. You'd think they'd have it nailed by now. But no, not Oster. You want to frustrate someone to tears? Buy them this can opener. I've had mine 3 months and it's time for the trash can!

I just remodeled my kitchen from white appliances to stainless. Not knowing if this can opener would match I was hesitant to purchase it sight unseen. I'm so glad I did as it is a perfect match. It is easy to operate, fast and quiet. It even allows for hands free after inital puncture and holds can in place. I'm so glad I decided to go with this Oster model. I've had several Oster products and never had a problem with any of them.

I received this can opener for Christmas. The can opener does not work. The blade doesn't puncture the lid. Not even close. I seriously believe there is a flaw in the manufacturing of this can opener. Returned it for a full refund.
