Splayd Australian Utensil Mirror Finish Set of 6

I was given a set of 4 Splayds Color in 1996 by friends in Australia. I'd never heard of them but I took to them immediately. I still have them and love to use them, even though friends have given me odd looks when I put them out for dinner. Those have black plastic on the handles, and while the plastic is starting to chip and fall off, the Splayds are still in great shape otherwise. I always wanted to get another set.

Then the other day I checked Amazon--yes! They just started selling them recently, so I ordered a set. These are VERY nice stainless steel and will hold up nicely for a long time. The box is also very nice, so if you're going to give it as a gift, all you need to do is wrap it or put it in a gift bag. But I think I'm going to order me yet another set one day. You can never have too many Splayds, I think.

If you're curious, get yourself a set and try them out. You'll wonder how you ever got along without them.

I love these! I use mine every day. The plain design works just fine along with my existing flatware, very nice quality too! Hard to find in the US, not sure why. They are absolutely brilliant!

Love love love these utensils! Brought a set of 4 home from Australia 30 years ago and lost 3 to the garbage disposal. Recently got this new set from a visiting Aussie cousin, and we love them, my husband and I reach for them first every time! They are so practical! I originally bought these at a Jeep dealership in 1986 far from my home. A strange place to buy them. Over the years I was down to my last 3. Not sure where they went. I really covet them. I use them the most of all my utensils. They are so much better than other sporks. The spoon portion actually has a good bowl size. I did a search for sporks to replace them & happen to see a image that resembled what I had. It led me to a replacement silverware page & gave the name. I couldn't make out the name very well on my spork but it looked close to what was on my spork. I did another search & Bingo!. Thank God for the internet now days. I was able to order my beloved spork. Couldn't believe they still made them.

My original ones are a satin finish which I like better. I'm not sure if they started mirror finish & 27 or so years made them satin. The new ones have the same feel. Aussie Essentials is the company I purchased from. I ordered Saturday & received on Monday.
