Rada Cutlery Pizza Cutter, Made in USA

I was so disgusted with every other pizza cutter I have had that either rusts or can't be put in the dishwasher. I love the fact that this is made in the USA and it is very well made. They tell you it will lose its luster if put in the dishwasher and this is true, but it certainly doesn't hurt any part of it and I'm not concerned with "shine". Great item buy it!

This is a very high quality piece of kitchenware, and I feel that it's definitely worth spending the few extra bucks vs. the cheaper versions that are available at most chain stores.

Previous to owning this product, I had gone through many pizza cutters of several different designs. Two of my previous cutters were similar in design to this item and each had fallen apart after about a couple of months of use. This product has lasted me about 3 years, and it bears no signs of imminent and/or catastrophic failure.

What led me to buy this product is that I received one of Rada's steak knifes as a promotional gift, and I was very, very impressed with the sharpness and look of the cutlery, so I ended up buying several sets of knives, and then later purchased several other Rada offerings, this pizza cutter included.

Some users have described issues with the brushed aluminum handle coating suffering discoloration following repeated uses and dishwasher runs over a long period of time. I've owned this piece for about 3 years, and have run it through at least 50 dishwasher cycles (at LEAST), and I haven't noticed any discoloration over time. However, this is only my personal experience (as a grad student who consumes a lot of pizza and doesn't wash things by hand if not necessary[as opposed to the dishwasher]). Maybe Rada will introduce a black handle version in the future for those of you with concerns...

I love that this item is made in the US. I also love that the wheel is heavy duty and has a nice sharp edge. It looks like it will last a long time and slices through pizza nicely.

The only thing that I don't absolutely love is the handle. It is lightweight and the brushed aluminum texture just doesn't feel really great in your hand. The lightweight handle also makes it feel a little cheap despite the quality of the wheel. After using this and some other utensils from the same company for a few days, I've gotten used to the feel and don't mind it so much now. I'm willing to deal with the handle because the cutting end of this is exactly what I wanted and I'm very happy to support US manufacturing.

I was sick of all the $15-$25 plastic handled, cheaply made pizza wheels, so I bought this based on positive reviews. It's great, cuts well, is easy to wash, and durable. I'm happy! (and no stupid cheap plastic handle!)
