I bought this knife for one reason, to get started in cooking and practice my knife skills.I have visited many kitchen ware stores and many online products for professional chefs. This is the one product that fits my quality requirements and that fits into my current budget. It is Japanese made, it's affordable and the quality is great. Some of the German brands just don't cut it with their rusty cheap QC knife sets. You get what you paid for.
The handle is made of natural wood. It fits into my 6' hands nicely and I use a pinch grip.
The knife is silver color, thin and light and it cuts nicely. The first time I rinse the knife in running water, the water just falls off the shiny blade edge. It cuts chunky melons nicely into little squares, which is much better than my old American brand meat cleaver. Overall this is a good product.
