Tired of struggling to slice baked goods without ruining them? Well, this bread knife is triple riveted, has a full tang, an ergonomic handle, and is a 15 inches long (8 inch blade)! This is an AMAZING knife at an unbelievable price! You will LOVE how it zips right thru all kinds of breads, buns, and bagels! Designed to last a lifetime and it probably will. But, if not, you are still getting a real BARGAIN! Do someone a favor, and buy them one, too! (We bought four extra ones and tucked them away for stuffing some special Christmas stockings!) Hand wash recommended. PS MADE IN CHINA, WILL RUST IN THE DISHWASHER! For a better, American made bread/bagel knife see: Rada Cutlery Bagel Knife, Made in USA, Aluminum Handle which is also under seven dollars!!
I recently ordered this bread knife from Amazon. It arrived very quickly, sooner than I expected. I opened the box, removed it from the vaccu-wrap packaging (more difficult than it needs to be, I think) and rushed into the kitchen to give it a try on one of my breadmaker freshly made loaves. I was somewhat disappointed. Instead of something that I had hoped would cut through the bread like a hot knife through butter, it was like I was sawing soft wood! My old freshly sharpened standard kitchen knife cut easier, smoother, and with way less fewer sawdust, er, I mean, crumbs. Maybe I should have bought a more expensive bread knife.

Bought this a 8" serrated bread knife as part of a combo, 2011, at such a good price it had to be worth it. NOT.
Here's why I bought it. The knife looks good, has sturdy plastic sheath and the serrations are deep and sharp; man this is going to cut through bread like nobody's business. That's what I thought in the store.
Well, it doesn't cut through bread it rips it, but only if you hold bread so tightly that you squish the bread. Who wants to serve squished bread? Mucho bread crumbs as the other reviewer called them ... and it takes 5 times as much effort and time as our old, getting dull current bread knife. Wife refuses to use it a second time.
This is really a very coarse knife in its cutting action, and a very coarse knife doesn't have a place in our USA kitchens. I grant that it is finished OK, and seemed a bargain at the store sale price.
The problem (my analysis) is the serrations are made way way too deep and are trying to trying to take too big a chunk out of the bread each 1/5 of an inch as they pass. If they ever revise the design and make the serrations much shallower it might work well.
FOR NOW, DON'T BUY THIS. Even if it's cheap.
Mine's going to Goodwill. Truth.
