Dexter-Russell Cutlery, Bread Knife, Offset Scalloped 9"

When I received this knife I examined it very closely and noticed a few imperfections on it. The first is a very small extra piece of metal on one of the serrations which I'm sure could be taken care of with a gentle bit of sharpening. The next is the handle and how there is a slight gap between the wooden handle and the tang of the knife on one side. These imperfections don't upset me though because for 20 dollars it is a really good knife, and I plan on using the heck out of it anyways. The point of balance seems to be where the serrations begin on the blade and the handle feels very sturdy.

This knife is perfect for big crusty loaves and other uses. Love the offset handle to avoid grazing knuckles on the breadboard. Good balance. Great value for the money.

This is a great knife. The offset handle is very ergonomic. The blade is very efficient, and it has a wonderful balance. This knife helps me to work from elbow and upper arm; not from my wrist and hand. The handle could be bigger. I like to carve my knife handles to fit my hand. The flexibility vs. stiffness of this blade strikes an elegant balance.

The knife arrived in a huge box hardly taped together, without an kind of blade cover.It's no wonder the tip was broken off. I guess I learned my lesson buying such a cheap knife.
