The title says it all. Bought this knife a few months ago and just got to use it. Filleted a salmon caught just this weekend, and WOW. Dangerously sharp, flexible (but not too flexible), excellent handle size and grip. Was worried about the point not being "pointy" enough to start filleting or getting under the skin. No worries now. Although the blade curves to a point, it is definitely sharp enough at the point to do the task.
This silverware set is very nice.Very sturdy, but i will mention they are made in China. This is the only reason i am not giving them 5 stars. Would purchase again.
I work in a professional kitchen and our tomato shark went missing, after 2 weeks of using my paring knife to core out a box of tomatoes a day I decided I would invest in my own. I like other Messermeister products so I picked up this one. The grip is comfortable.. If you are going to use this product make sure to hold your thumb on the metal behind the useful end. If it were me I would not get this product again.
This product is cute, green and appeared to be functional. After the second use the cutting wheel no longer turned properly making it unusable. Do not buy this product unless you plan to have it on display only.

Bought this item because I thought it looked really cute and appreciated that it could be recycled whole when done using it. However, when it arrived I was really disappointed with the quality. The metal looked dirty and tarnished and the face looked like it was half-hazardly painted on. Had to return. Bummer.
i have already reviewed other pieces from this companyso far, all have been impressive and well-made. this forged(not stamped) knife holds a sharp edge and cuts easily. i like that it is somewhat lighter than my german counterparts that always feel like i'm wielding an axe or something heavy. don't get me wrong, my wusthof and henckels are beautiful knives, it just seems after a long prep in the kitchen me arm and hand could use a rest. with this (and the other schmidt bros. cutlery) i get the same ease of cutting, better control, and with less effort. this is a nice knife and for the price hard to beat in todays crowded market. try this or a chefs knife and see if you don't agree how much of a bargain these are.

This is a pretty serious knife with good looks, proper balance, and a design that just feels right when you use it. Part of the appeal was that this series has some nice cheese knives, however, they are very hard to track down and you probably won't get a good deal on them. I ordered this knife, and a 6" Chef's knife to try, before replacing our aging and worn knives. My first surprise, was the full tang, keeping you hand and fingers away from harm. The second, the knife took a wonderful edge, and holds that edge. The slight rocker of the blade makes dicing a charm. Dollar for Dollar, I doubt you can find a better knife.
I am very pleased with this bowl. It's beautiful! I use it as a fruit bowl on our kitchen island, and now even when the fruit is down to one or two, the almost empty bowl doesn't look bare .... the beautiful golden-pearl mosaic tiles are so lovely that it still looks so attractive and nice! For my use as a fruit bowl, it would be nice if this bowl ran a little bigger (it's 10" across) as we have a big family and go through a lot of fruit per week. But it's still a nice size and will do just fine for us. I really like it thanks!

I purchased the set at Sur La Table for $99. It was a great value because I wanted a long lasting knife set to start with. I was between the 6" and the 8", but the value for the 6" was much greater and it still had some weight to it. As far as the blade goes, everything I've cut through, cuts like butter, from lettuce,vegetables, chicken, etc. As long as you have the blade sharpened regularly and take care of the knife and hand wash, not dish wash it, it will last forever. I highly recommend this for new home owners or as a gift to someone special. Its a great set and a great gift idea at around a hundred bucks. This is a perfect set to start with. I got these for my sister in law because she was jealous every time she used my full set of classics. These are 2 super useful blades and you might not ever need more, keep using your old crappy bread knife and sandwich knife, and just have these for the legit work!
I bought this block 2 months ago. The block consists of a column of tightly packed thin plastic rods. When you slide in a knife, they get displaced and snugly hold on to the knife. There are no slots like traditional knife blocks, which allows you to slide in many many more knives, and in any arrangement you choose. I currently have 13 items in the block, including a big Chinese cleaver, honing steel, 5 large knives (ie, chef's) and 6 small knives (ie, pairing)...and there is still room for more! I was skeptical at first, but now I am a believer.

This knife block is a good idea. I hate trying to get my knives into a standard slotted block. I can insert knives, scissors, etc. into this block with plastic rods. Have had no problem with the rods getting cut. Loved this item when I first bought it. Perfect solution. However, after a year, the knives were difficult to impossible to push down all the way. What happens is this: after months of use, the rods get bent and once they are bent, they are ineffective. The more you use this product, the more rods you bend; the more rods you bend, the less useful this product becomes. I am writing this review because I am online looking for a "traditional" knife block now.
the concept was what I was looking for...a cutting board that you could carve meat on and not have juices run off onto the counter. The board did accomplish this, but the material of the cutting board is a soft rubber and the knife marks were so deep I had to review my order to make sure I had a "cutting" board. If the deep marks do not bother you, then it will accomplish not letting juices flow off and onto the counter.

I will be tossing two other cutting boards which I have used for cutting things which either slide around on a board or release too many juices and ooze onto my counter. This is wonderful! I first saw it at a relative;s house,and she said that she uses it all the time because of its versatility. The sharpish pegs on one side keep our ham, roasts, and chicken in place, and the other side is smooth for cutting anything else. The surface of the board slants to one long side, and I had not realized until I bought it that it does the same on the other side. This is great for collecting the juices, crumbs, or sliced and diced things off to one side. I absolutely LOVE this cutting board! It works fabulously when carving a roast or any other meat; the angled well is more than sufficient for catching all the drippings. I used to use a wooden carving board but hated trying to clean it afterward. This Joseph Joseph cutting board fits right into the dishwasher so I know it's clean and disinfected.
Brought this for my daughter.....she loves it and uses it all the time. She uses the different color for selected products like for meats and vegetable and fishes. She recommends this products.
The sharpening system seems to work pretty well, but for some scissors it can't sharpen the whole blade. Some scissors have one straight blade/handle (for the fingers) and the other blade/handle (for the thumb) is angeled. the handle on the sharpener prevents the angled blade to insert all the way into the sharpener. I had to cut off the handle (easy to do) which helps get most off the blade into the sharpener.

I bought this sharpener primarily for scissors, which it sharpened very well. I should mention that when I tried to sharpen scissors by pulling them across the sharpening rods they would bind, but when pushing them across the rods it worked well. The instructions say this is acceptable. What surprised me was how well it sharpened knives. With just a few strokes it sharpened all my kitchen knives, with less effort than my ceramic sharpening rod. I found this edge guard to be okay. It leaves about 1/4 inch of the blade exposed if the knife has a bolster (like every german knife), or the handle extends over the heel of the knife (like a victorinox chef's knife.) It slips off easily, but isn't so good for a house with kids.

Got invaded again last week, was sure glad to have this little baby hanging over the fireplace when it happened. I've never had an easier time dealing with cavalry: even if you don't knock the rider right out of his saddle, his mount won't exactly be in any condition to let him go around for another charge, if you know what I mean. Definitely worth the extra fifty bucks for those last couple of inches on the blade the added weight really improves the balance of this already-excellent polearm. Would definitely be interested in purchasing 10 or 12-foot models if they became available.
I got my daughter this set last year and really wanted to keep it for myself. She LOVES and now I have my own and reach for the chef's knife more than my really expensive knives. It is sharp enough to laugh at a tomato as it makes perfect slices. It is just as amazing on meat.

I recnetly purchased breadmaker and needed bread knife and found this product at culnary store. I think the price is reasonable (acutally lowest price amongst all other brands) and cuts really sharp, I almost cut myself, being so used to my old dull bread-knife!! I can now make sandwiches and slice ham/cheese all together w/o smashing my bread and leaves no mess! You can also spread butter w/ same knife and one knife does it all for sandwich making, highly recommended for bread lovers.

I purchased these shears to replace a pair that broke after years of faithful service. These shears are well made, function perfectly, and have already survived several trips through the dishwasher. My only complaint is the orange trim color. I really would have preferred all black, but, for the price, I am more than willing to live with the orange.
I have bought the expensive battery operated can openers, and some that were manual that were HORRIABLE!! I know THIS MADE IN U.S.A. IS THE BEST!! I can't even explain the frustration I've had with other can openers, they either don't allow you to drain off the liquid because it takes the outside seal off, or it chops into the metal and it takes you (me) about 15 minutes to get the darn lid off. Just buy this if you are done with being frustrated! Buy this if you have hardly any strength and just want to open a can! I've even named mine, BIG RED. You will not be disappointed!! I ordered this one after buying a similar one at WM. It last through about 3 cans. This one is like the swing-away I owned for so long. Just be sure not to wash in dishwasher as it will dull the cutters.
