These leather knife blade covers work good as the leather provides great protection for the carver. Some carvers use wine corks but the blade edge isn't covered. With these covers, the blade is inserted into paper that is inside the sleeve,thus the tip and blade edge is protected. However the paper separates after a few insertions and slips off the blade easily while in your tool box/kit.
