My husband actually bought me a smaller Kasumi knife as a Christmas gift. It is only about 5" but it has a blade shape of a chef's knife, so a review under this knife seems to be the best fit. And I felt the need to review it since I am so attached--one could even say loyal to it. First of all, I had no idea that these Kasumi knives were so expensive. So I had no bias. We have some decent heavy German (Wusthof) knives that are good quality, so I didn't even understand why my husband bought me a knife. I didn't use it much at first, but slowly over time I started reaching for it. Eventually I noticed it was the only one I reached for. I asked myself why and realized it is because it is strong and sharp, but most of all it is LIGHT and fits my hand so comfortably. I would however like a bigger knife as well, and I'm telling you I am eyeing this one. I wish it weren't so expensive or I would have bought it already!

Pretty and functional. Great knife, though did not come as sharp as I was lead to believe.
