I have owned this wine opener since the early 1980s...Yes, the same one! It is so easy to use and (obviously) durable. Highly recommended.

After 6 months, it broke. One of the long tines/forks cracked in half. "Amazon" said return it to the manufacturer in South Carolina---which I did via USPS with a tracking number...And the story ends there! Nothing EITHER YES OR NO FROM SCREWPULL(Le Crueset, actually). You are better off buying from a retail outlet where you have some leverage, and they stand behind what they sell!

The best corkscrew. Had one for 8 years. When it finally cracked, after much good use, we just had to replace it. Have never thought of buying another.

We love our simple Screwpulls (friends have broken several over the years, because they did not ask how to work it, so we keep buying new ones). But the most recent one does not say Screwpull on the side it says "Le Creuset." And in opening one kind of bottle (it happens to be the tall Toasted Head Chardonnay bottle), the hub on the side which holds the opener against the bottle rim is slightly larger, and will not permit the cork to come out, without rocking the opener sideways. It works fine on all the other wine bottles I have tried. My old one says "Screwpull" with the little circled R after, and it works perfectly. I wonder if this is this a newly-engineered style? I like the old one better.
