Paperproducts Design Resin Wine Cork Handle Cheese Spreaders, Boxed Set of 4

I read about these wine cork cheese spreaders in the newspaper and I thought they would be great gifts. So, I ordered them on line and gave them as gifts. The two people I gave them to are excellent cooks. One is a caterer and the other is a gourmet cook. They both liked them.

I thought they were different and unique.

These wine cork cheese spreaders looked great on arrival, but this changed rapidly! Per cleaning instructions these are not dishwasher safe, but they are realy not cleaning safe as well! As soon as I hand washed them the corks lost all there coloring and looked as if they were bleached or white washed. Very disappointed in this product, and I do not recommend to any buyers, unless they do not mind rapid aging and loss of pigment.

These are listed as "Cork handle" cheese spreaders, but they are in fact ceramic handles made to look somewhat like cork. I suppose these will hold up better over time, but I wish this had been made clear in the description. I haven't used them yet, they're a gift.
