This honing steel is highly recommended for any knife but especially for Shun knives. Shun's edges are at a 16 degree angle and the honing steel has a guide that will help you keep it that way. While it takes some getting used to using a guide to hone your knife, it will definitely save it!

Bought this honing steel to go with my shun premier knives (which I love). Very disappointed to see that this honing steel was made in China, and it shows. The back of the handle is not smooth and even like the knives are, and an over all feeling of cheapness to it, very disappointed. Going to be returning it.
