Just purchase the thing if you have little children around the house who want to help cook and cut. Very safe for all foods -they can't cut themselves, cause it is not really sharp -I tried it on my own hand -sure you could hurt yourself if you put all of your weight on it and keep sawing back and forth for a long time, but you could do the same with a phone.
