Farberware Classic 3-Inch Parer

If you are looking for an easy to use, affordable, everyday paring knife, this is the knife for you. I had one just like it and lost it on a camping trip, so this replacement made me VERY happy

I bought two of these, based on the fact that I have one from 2001 that I really like. I knew my old one was wasn't any special quality I'd bought it at a drugstore, and somehow it's held up fine with heavy use. But I was still disappointed with the new ones. The 12-year-old one still seems to cut better. I'm hoping that the new ones will wear in or something, but I don't know, really.

Glad to see the classic is still available. No longer able to find in stores. This has a nice grip and wide blade for good control. I used mine all the time until I tried to split a squash with it and snapped the blade off....not smart. Before I found this replacement online, I settled for the colorful thinner ones being sold in stores now but could not use them. They were so flimsy they almost felt like those cheap pumpkin decorating cutters you get for Halloween. This is the best which is why it is called the "classic".

performs far better than most other knifes. Albeit it being small, I use it most frequently than any brand I have.

It looks like my current parer, but doesn't cut properly at all. I tried cutting an apple, but the blade won't cut straight. It cuts at an angle and no matter what I try, won't cut straight down. This may be a new knife, but isn't at all what I wanted.

How can I get a different knife in place of this one.
