Dexas Jelli Chop and Scoop

I bought two as gifts expecting them to be small and cute and to fit into little gift bags. Well, I failed to look at the size information and when they arrived, I was surprised. Okay, that's my mistake. I still like them but I keep looking at that photo and the real thing doesn't look exactly like the photo. I think the photo has been altered somewhat, or else the item's design has been slightly changed. The photo makes it look like the sides form a thick edge creating a kind of well in the center. But that's not true. The sides are just curved. It's a perfectly fine chopping board. Just be aware it's 13 inches by 9 inches.

Let me add something. The sides curve up so that chopped food won't fall off, and the bottom edge is almost flat, so chopped food can be easily pushed off. However, juices/liquids can run off that flatter end. I hope this clarifies what I mean when I say it doesn't create a "well" in the center.

I love this in orange. I actually bought it 1st time when we returning to USA for holiday at bed bath and beyond. I can't live without it since returning to where we are stationed. I use it everyday. It is versatile, easy to use and clean. I was surprise to see it at Amazon with good price, especially it is in orange. I'm an 'orange' lover. I bought it in the store for almost 15 USD if I'm not mistaken last Christmas.

I was right away place an order through Amazon with some other 'orange' items to compliment the Dexas. The one I received from Amazon has design improvement. They add 4 anti slips on the bottom which didn't exist on mine from BBB which is still in good condition. I notice from the back side it says USA patent and tag says made in USA too, Yipiiiiieee! Yes, I'm in a mission to buy things from USA even though I'm not American. Love Dexas and plan on buying the white one for meat and poultry purpose.

I bought this because of the cute shape and color and I love to use it as a serving board that brightens up my table or buffet. True, it is a little too narrow to use as a cutting board for large fruits and vegetables, but for small items, it works well and is a handy scoop to dump into bowl or pan. But I like to spread cut up fruits or vegetables on it and bring it to the table to serve with cheese and crackers. I like it so much that I'm buying another one and I won't be using it to chop, but to serve anything and everything that goes with a glass of wine.
