WMF Manaos / Bistro Cake Knife

I purchased this knife based on Amazon reviews many thanks to all who took time to leave a product review! I am very pleased: the knife is long to cut big cakes and large pizza, it's sharp yet the blade is wide enough; the knife is shiny, looks nice, and it has a good quality. After almost a year of using it still looks like new. I love it.

This cake knife is more than a glorified butter knife, with a slight, honed edge along half its blade length. At 11.5" long and 1.25" wide, this is both an elegant and useful tool. Not just for cakes, for fun I easily sliced through a pizza, and frankly, it is better than any butter or sandwich spreader I have ever used. I love it; thanks again WMF!

I bought this WMF Bistro cake knife in Germany in 1992 and it stills looks brand new. Cutting side blade is still sharp. Dishwasher safe, and blends in with any flatware. Better yet, it slices through tougher baked goods like pies and tarts, as well as softer cakes. Other reviewers here have used it for pizza. I was pleased to find this knife for sale on Amazon, and bought five to give as gifts this December. All of the recipients were delighted with the knife.

I received this cake knife today and was a little surprised at how big it is in person, but other than that, it's exactly what I was expecting. The knife is a gift for my sister for her wedding, and it's lovely and simple, just her style, and feels good in the hand. It was nice to be able to purchase it separately from the server since she has one of those already. Without any hearts or specifically "wedding" designs on the handle, she and her future hubby will be able to use it for entertaining for years to come!
