What I'm saying is... :)
If you don't know how to maintain a blades edge, learn how to by watching videos online. Anyone reading this review obviously cares about quality. All knives dull, all dull knives are equally cruddy. So no mater what knife you buy, it would suit you well to learn how to maintain an edge.
These knives are well worth the price, I don't regret it and don't feel that I ever will. They will be in my prep bag and commonly used for years to come.
-KenOutstanding knife set and a great value. I bought these as a replacement for a set of Paula Deen santoku knives. Those knives are well made but I didn't like the clearance between the handles and cutting board. I also didn't care for the fact that the bolster went fully down the heel of the blade. The Zhen knives are well made. The integrated handles provide a good grip, adequate clearance from the cutting board (no hitting your knuckles) and won't crack as plastic handles are prone to do over time. I like this combo as the 7 inch does the "heavy lifting" while the 5.5 vegetable knife with it's angled blade is excellent for dicing. I'm not sure you would be able to do better for the money.

I bought these knives for my husband and he loves them. Says they're the best knives he's ever had. Also, you just can't beat the price.
