Tamahagane San Tsubame 5 inch Utility Knife

I recently bought three Tamahagane San Tsubame knives for my home kitchen. As a chef, I also cook at work, but I would never bring something this beautiful there. I have used a lot of knives in my life: Shuns, Wusthofs, Globals, Masahiros, Henkels, and the like. But of them all (and with the exception of my hand-made Damascus steel Yoshihiro) these are my favorites. They arrived hair-splitting sharp, the look quite magnificent, the balance on all three of my Tamahananes is perfect, and so is the craftsmanship. When cutting with these knives I don't so much cut with the knife as guide the blade as it falls through the food.

And as far as the seller, Metro Kitchen, their service was impeccable. They shipped my knives very promptly, they arrived in perfect new condition, and when I had a question for them about the shipping of one knife, they responded the same day.

In short, great knives, great service.
