Black Cutlery Drying Rack

Black Cutlery Drying RackI don't know what there is to say about a cutlery drying rack, but this looks nice and does its job. It is sturdy and hangs nicely from our drying rack. It's easy to take on and off, and I've found that it is convenient to put this in the sink and fill it with recently scrubbed and soaped up silverware and then rinse them all off at once. The coating on this wire rack has held up just fine to this sort of use. A few times I've had trouble with knives slipping through the sides of the rack, but as long as I remember to put knives in the center compartment, this isn't a problem. This was the cheapest black wire cutlery rack I could find at the time of purchase, and is definitely buy it again.

We went through several replacements of the chrome version of this silverware rack that inevitably rust away. After looking for (and not finding) a stainless steel version to match our drying rack, we decided to spend a few extra bucks for this black plastic-coated version. It looks nice and is working out very well. The plastic coating makes the holes between the bars a bit smaller, which helps to minimize the "fall-through" that inevitably happens with this type of rack. It's also quieter when you're dropping things in. All in all, a very nice looking, longer-lasting alternative to the classic chrome rack. Five stars for practicality and value.

Our old cutlery basket accumulated "gunk" in the bottom all the time and had to be cleaned/scrubbed with a toothbrush and bleach to get it out and make it really clean. Not a problem with this! A few items do tend to slip through the grid on the bottom, though, and the basket/rack doesn't seem to attach tightly to the dish drainer. LOVE the black and the modern look!

The item is well constructed and overall I am very pleased with it. However as with the other comments the flaw with the design is that the side slots, especially at each of the 4 corners of the unit are too wide apart and my utensils slips through. The only way to prevent it was to face my spoons and forks face downwards. (Normally I have the handles facing downwards). As with another person's comments knives do slip through and the only way I can figure to keep them in if I put them at the two outer sections, is to place another shallow wire/vented unit under it; this solved my problem beautifully. This solution also elimitated the need to having to remember to place the wide end of my forks and spoons facing downwards.

Overall I still love the construction. However I do think that they do need to fix the design of this caddy so that one doesn't need to do modifications to keep utensils from slipping out.

I originally surfed the net to find the exact dish folding drying rack that had broken. I found the picture, clicked it on and this item came up in it's place. I showed it to my mom since it was her dish drying rack that had broken, we liked it and ordered it. This item was the mach and substitute for the Large folding rack that I had also purchased. We were very pleased.
