This knife arrived sharp at the first inch after the haft, and dull for the remaining length of the blade. My husband, who is very adept at honing knives to sharpness, spent about an hour trying to get a sharp edge on this knife, using his whetstone. He believes it is made of inferior steel. It was moderately sharp after that would cut through bell peppers and onions OK but the sharpness diminished within a few days. Buy a better knife.
