serrated on BOTH sides of cutting edge. There is enough blade here, one
could grind a professional cutting edge if desired. Will work great for
average user as is.

This is a very sharp pair of knives. Perfect for any small jobs you may have. My husband loves these knives. They are about the only thing he uses to cut food items in the kitchen. They are a must for any steak lover. You will not be disappointed with their quality or price.Read Best Reviews of J.A. Henckels International 4-Piece Prime Steak Set Here
These are not as expensive as Shun or Global knives, and their basic aesthetic reflects that fact. However, they still look smart and functionally are as good as any more expensive set. These were stamped in Thailand (not forged in Japan or Germany), and that does not affect their function. These are steak knives they're utensils, not tools. When it comes to a chef's knife, the prudent thing to do is often to spend a good chunk of change (though Victorinox's $35 knives give more expensive Wusthof and Shuns a run for their money). Steak knives, however, are a different beast: they're used for meals, not mincing, dinner not dicing, chops not chopping. There's no benefit to having super-expensive German-forged steel in your steak knives, because the way that they are used would not see any benefit from their being manufactured as such (plus, stamping technique has gotten much better in the past several yearsa stamped knife from 2011 is much better than one from 1995).These knives are very sharp, look good, and after about three months of near-daily use have shown no signs of dulling or other wear. Serrations are present on both sides of the blade and the knives are full-tang. At $20 for a set of four, these are a great value.

These are not top of the line steak knives but they are really good steak knives for the money. The handles are plastic but the blade itself is really heavy and I still feel like I got a decent deal. Don't buy these expecting the same kind of quality you would get from a 80-100 dollar set of knives.
