Yamazaki Old Denmark 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

Yamazaki Old Denmark 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4I too own this pattern. Since the mid 80's, as I recall. Can't believe there were no reviews on this listing. Any of the great things you may have read about the looks and quality are true. I've used mine for daily use since buying, as I loved the style so much. And use most of the time for special dinners, as well.

The thing that I am so thankful to report, is how I got my set. I bought these at old Weinstocks, on compounded discounts....something like 50% and 40%.....all I remember is the cost to me PER PLACE SETTING was $13.50. I couldn't believe it, and though I didn't have so much money then, I bought about 10 PS and serving pieces at the time, sensing this was a blowout price. Boy, was it! (And NO, I'm not a seller or being paid for this review, I'm just passionate about it. And I was shopping for some Oneida pieces to add to a smaller set and was curious what Old Denmark was going for.)

Later, I added more pieces, but not at the original great deal, but much better than today's going prices. So I'm a very, very happy camper. They are still lovely to this day. And all I do is hand wash or dish washer. Imagine if I got off my duff and hand polished, or at least towel dried! $13.50/PS!!! THAT was my luckiest of shopping day.

I was adjusted to 3 tines because salad forks of my Lauffer flatware (given in 1971) has 3.

I had used inferior flatware given by a friend & could not stand having problem cleaning fork tines (were not smoothed a stamped fork) . Could not find Lauffer pieces (did later) so mighty Amazon searching began! The weight is not high -like Lauffer but I selected Old Demark for QUALITY and LOOKS. Quite happy on both!
