if you don't abuse this physically, it will last forever, and it works perfectly. i watched a video about the "edge pro" sharpener on youtube. they show all about an identical item selling for about nine times the price. i am a good sharpener, but needed to go to the next level. that required maintaining a consistent angle. this does it. replacement stones are available on line, low priced. i could not match the results of this device using freehand techniques. it warrants six or seven stars.
