i just received this product. i researched to try to determine its origin. the company boasts about its "social responsibility" but fails to mention where the products are produced anywhere on its site. upon receipt, i saw on the label that it was made in china. what a bummer. many people may not care, but many people do. i wish the company would be more up front about where the product is made. also, when unwrapping it i found it to be frayed with many small "splinters" of wood sticking up from the surface. maybe this will fade with use and mineral oil maintenance, but i'm pretty bummed about the chinese production. with that said, the price is right (should have been a warning sign) and it's lightweight.
