I bought this knife after using a friends. Mine, however, has a manufacturing defect which keeps the blade from remaining stationary when attempting to slice the bread. I contacted Mountain Woods regarding the defect and they won't even reply to me. Great idea, poor implementation.

It is very sharp and cuts great on bread that has time to cool. It is not the best choice for cutting fresh warm bread.
