Buy Le Creuset Stoneware 16-piece Dinnerware Sets Now
I own both the Flame Le Creuset dishes and 2 place settings of Fiesta. We bought the Fiesta while debating the Le Creuset purchase and I am happy with both brands. I prefer the sizes/shapes of the Fiesta bowls though, they are just more practical sizes, but prefer the Le Creuset plates more. Note about Le Creuset: the soup bowl and salad bowl look almost the same, so if you are buying individual pieces in a store and NOT the 4 piece set I would opt for the soup bowl if you are budgeting as it looks mostly like a salad plate and can be used interchangeably. We have both since we got a very good price at the outlet store, but just something to consider. We have had them all for several years and even accidentally dropping a bowl on tile have not even had so much as a chip on Fiesta! The Le Creuset was made in China sadly unlike Fiesta which is made in the US, but they are beautiful dishes that are heavy like the Fiesta, that we use very often and have also not had them chip or crack with a few accidental falls from washing dishes in the sink.
I support American made products when I can and even with Le Creuset outsourcing the stoneware, it's still better quality than many common brands one finds at a regular store. I will say that I bought our LC at the outlet store, so I paid significantly less than some retail stores price them for. Minus a star for being made in China. Mine were stamped on the bottom lead and cadmium free, and while we cannot be 100% sure, I choose to trust them as they do seem good quality. If you feel uneasy about them being made in China, go for the Fiesta which I believe also is marketed as lead free.

I won one dishware set at an auction. They are beautiful. A 4 place setting was not enough for my needs so I ordered another set, and 8 small bowls in all different colors because my husband didn't like the soup bowls for his oatmeal. When I opened the box, one of the salad plates was chipped. I called and am getting one sent to me to replace it. That was ok. I unloaded the dishwasher tonight and found another salad plate chipped. I am so disappointed. I went round and round trying to decide between Fiestaware and Le Creuset. I wonder if I chose wisely. I sent the Le Creuset company an email. I'll let you know about the warranty. Hopefully I will change the number of stars.
