I already had other Kleve knives so I got this as a matching knife, even though it's not that important for a paring knife to be full-tang, super-strong steel, double-bolsters, yada-yada-yada. It does well as a paring knife. I got it for about $10, so at that price point it's better than many. I wouldn't pay more. It has a really good, hard steel, which I know holds edge well and hones well, except that a 3.5 knife isn't very easy to hone. Mine is sharp so far (~ a year).
