This is probably one of the most useful knife design ever. This is my second most used knife after my chef knife. Messermeisters are SUPER sharp out of the box, not as sharp as the shuns but that changes quickly. after a few uses the shuns lose their ultra sharpness.Messermeisters handles are the best in the world hands down I have never used any other more confortable knives than messermeisters they are are practically indestructible I have a 10 year old messermeiser that has seen the dishwasher at least 100 times I used it everyday for at least 8 hours a day until it got dull so I ordered a replacement.
what did I do with my old knife i sent it over to messermeister for free sharpening when I got my knife back not only did they restore the elite edge they actually polished half of the blade and believe it or not the resharpened knife is actually sharper than the new one!!
now I use my old knife for all my cooking and the new one to show off and cook in front of people. dont be fooled by the low prices once you try a messermeister you wont use anything else.
