Box of 2 Opinel Paring Knives No 112 Red Handle

I really like these knives, and will continue to use them for years to come I'm sure. Opinel is a great manufacturer. These knives use high quality stainless steel, and hold an edge very well. I haven't resharpened these knives yet, but suspect they will take future honing well. The handles are attractive and sturdy. The stabilized wood resists staining and can stand up to washing in automatic dish washers with no problem.

My only complaint is pretty significant. The symmetrical handle doesn't provide much of a tactile clue to orientation, and the thin blade design doesn't help much either. Initially I found myself picking up the knife upside down regularly, and I would hate to apply finger pressure to the sharp edge accidentally. If they would just include an index finger indention in the the handle, then this would be a perfect paring knife and a great value for the money.
