This knife block, however, is one unit, eliminating this problem. It's also slimmer than the others...which saves counter space...but still has plenty of room for small, medium, and big knives. The swivel base is nice if you are lucky enough (I'm not, by the way) to have a counter or kitchen island big enough for two people to work.
It's also simply a handsome piece of wood work. I wanted a nice, durable swivel knife block and I found a perfect one in this item. It has slots for everything I need, and I like that wherever I am cutting in my kitchen I can easiely pull out a knife (or scissors!)

Wish I had purchased it sooner. Very well built and the angle is perfect. Some blocks are not angled enough, so it's a problem getting the knives out if you place it on your countertop, under a cabinet.Read Best Reviews of Messermeister 22 Slot Swivel Base Wood Knife Block Here
This block is big and well built. My problem is that I have a 5 larger knives (a few chef knives, a cleaver, and a couple Japanese style knives). While there is plenty of space in the block, I wish I could convert some of the small knife slots into larger ones. Actually, I probably will, though I worry the block might not look as nice afterwards. Oh well. For the price-size-quality index, this block is pretty good. Just not perfect.Want Messermeister 22 Slot Swivel Base Wood Knife Block Discount?
I really wanted this knife block because all of my knives are Messermeister. I love the swivel feature. It moves very easily and looks great on the kitchen counter. At first I didn't like how far back the block went (pay attention to measurements, it is quite long). But I ended up moving it to the corner of my kitchen counter where it is not standing out too much, and I love that everything is very easy to grab within reach when I am cooking. The wood is very good quality; it is very sturdy.
