I ordered these knives because the one knife that was here at my little outpost in Afghanistan was super dull and I like to have more than one type of knife. while it is common sense that for $50 you aren't going to get the top of the line knife set,I was expecting a little better quality due to the fact that I have a higher end kitchen aid knife set at home that I love. with that being said, if you don't use knives every second of the day and are buying a starter set them this is your set. the blades are high quality and keep an edge well. the handles will be fine for light to intermediate use. I am just picky when it comes to my blades. overall, well worth the money!
