The only problem I had with this is that the wooden handle was incredibly rough. Like it hadn't even been rough sanded. When I got the knife (as a present for my sister), I had to take sandpaper to it to smooth it down, and it took a bit of effort. Eventually I had the walnut smooth as butter, but I was disappointed that I had to do this, especially considering the price.
I would still recommend this knife to anyone, but I would warn you that you should plan on sanding the handle down and then applying a good oil rub to it.

I purchased this two years ago, and have used it nearly every day since. I have a knife block with several Chicago Cutlery Walnut Tradition knives, and got tired of spreading mayo, mustard, butter, etc. on bread with the butcher knife. This is perfect for any spreading purpose. It fits perfectly into the block, and is such a close match to the walnut handles of the CC knives you would think it was made by CC. Highly recommended.Read Best Reviews of Dexter-Russell 3.5-Inch Stainless Steel and Walnut Scalloped Spreader Here
I looked forward to using this little gadget to fill deviled eggs...among other dishes. However, it came so safely wrapped that I am unable to get the protective plastic off the tip of it. The serrated edges prevent me from pulling it off so it just sits on my counter top, un-usable. Hopefully someone will come along who is stronger and wiser than me, and can figure it out. I would really like a replacement without the protective tip...so I can use my nice spreader.Want Dexter-Russell 3.5-Inch Stainless Steel and Walnut Scalloped Spreader Discount?
