Cepage Laguiole Corkscrew - Olive Wood

The description has changed since my purchase-they are now labeled "IMITATION WOOD" that WAS NOT the case when I made my purchase. Other than the fake wood-which is obvious to the touch and look, it is a great cork puller-solid construction and functionality and the serrated knife is excellent at cutting the foil cleanly. Cheap pine would have sufficed in lieu of PLASTIQUE!! IF you want a real one you will spend about $150.

After additional research, there are only 2 authentic Lagouile corkscrews Château Laguiole & Forge de Laguiole. Cepage is not authentic.

As the reviewer above mentioned, this is not a well-made heirloom product, but is instead a knockoff of a Chateau Laguiole model. It is imitation wood, and the metal spine (which gives rigidity to the screw and knife) is made of easily-fractured, inexpensive powdered steel.

It really is junk. The Chateau Laguiole stuff is great, but avoid this one.
