I'm glad that this was available.I've used other boards for cutting and dicing vegetables, slicing French bread, etc. but this is super. Its cutting surface is perfect and being thin is nice too. I'm surprised with its heft and solid feel. Made of glass,unbreakable and heat resistant, that's mind-boggling.
It says it only needs wiping, but I'll use my sanitizing wipes and see how that goes. I thought about the black finish version but decided the silver matched my other s/s ware.

Togiharu Inox Steel Gyutou
This is one of the best kitchen knives I have used to date. The craftsmanship is superb, the knife is very light and well balanced, a perfect combination if you work in a professional kitchen all day. The edge of the blade is razor sharp and seems to hold an edge very well, and when it dose loose its edge it is brought back very easily. The only negative is that the blade is very fragile which is to be expected with a knife like this so you have to be very cautious not to drop it or hit the tip on anything as it will break very easily. Korin's customer service is awesome, I actually mistakenly ordered the wrong Saya for this knife but after a quick phone call to Korin they sent me the correct one right away.

Hagerty Zippered Holloware Bags
I must agree with the reviewer from Georgia. I purchased several Hagerty Zippered Bags from two different vendors here on Amazon.com. The first vendor sent my order for (4) 9"x12" bags and (4) 15"x15" bags; the second vendor (ordered several months later) sent my order for (1) 24"x30" bag. Both vendors, by the way, were excellent to deal with. All my silver was polished to it's best and placed into the bags and put away for long-term storage. (I am a retired butler to one of the country's great families. I know all about polishing silver and what is, and what is not, a good polish of this metal).It was in June of this year that I received a notice from the second vendor regarding the large tray bag. She asked that I check the silver and notify her of the silver tray's condition. I took it out of storage, removed it from the bag and was amazed to find that the silver not only tarnished badly after less than two months, but that there was also a while chalky film covering most of the sterling tray. I called her immediately and reported what I had found. She explained that she had received the same replies from a couple of her customers. It was then I found out that Hagerty has suspended its USA production of the bags and has out-sourced them to China. What a surprise! The bags may look the same, but the quality of material and whatever tarnish retarding properties that may have been added to the material was very much lacking. It may, more importantly, not at all be safe for the silver (sterling or plate). She replaced the bag with one made in the USA. I had an unused boxed bag from the other set and checked the box for manufacture's origin. It was Made in China.
I immediately looked at all the silver in the other seven smaller bags and the same condition found on the tray was also on all the pieces comprising the large sterling tea set. Now I was horrified. I called the first vendor, explained the situation, but they were not able to replace the bags as the 90-day return period had expired. I was given the phone number to Hagerty to find a solution.
Unfortunately calling Hagerty is of no use to anyone. You will get the famous "menu" to select the person you want to contact. Only problem is that you aren't given any indication who or what this person is or does. I selected at random 3 different persons and left voice messages. There was never any response. After two weeks I sent an e-mail asking what solution could be arranged for replacement of these inferior bags. No response. The next week, I sent a not-so-nice e-mail outlining my very great displeasure with their product, but more importantly, their total lack of customer service. I even mentioned that I would write this review thinking they might not want unfavorable mention of this incident made public to such a large audience as is found on Amazon.com. My personal customer service intentions are always carried through to never less than satisfactory expectations. Hence, this review.
If you order these bags, I would be very careful to do so without first checking with the supplier/vendor about where the Hagerty bags are manufactured. On a side note consider this, too. I received the large replacement tray bag (Made in USA) and after a "down to the metal" polish, I put it into the bag. I checked the tray just a few days ago and noticed it was beginning to tarnish. So, what gives with the USA bags? Like the Georgia reviewer, I have used the same Hagerty bags for nearly 50 years without any issue. Now, these new bags don't seem to be any better, or more effective, than wrapping the silver in newspaper. I would avoid Hagerty altogether and make my own bags from yardage from Pacific Silver Cloth ... as I am now doing.

Hagerty products have been around for over 100 years and continue to be one of the best buys I ever make when I have a piece of silver to store. I'm really disappointed with my recent purchase. I just opened the bag to take out some silver and it's tarnished. Really a disappointment. I don't know if the bag was made in China as others have said, but I do know the product didn't work. I should return it. Very reluctant to buy more until they change manufacturers.

The first one of these I received had the corner chipped offbut Amazon had another out to me within 24 hours! I love this set. I can put some cheese and crackers and veggies on it, and put it in the fridge for my son, and he has a nice snack all ready for him. Plus, since I can serve it up ahead of time, he doesn't leave my cheeses unwrapped in the fridge to dry out when he serves himself off the main wheel. It's saved me cheese, and a certain amount of frustration.
Wusthof 8-in. Classic Panini Knife.
For most people this would be a good all around kitchen knife, however had I not been able to get this knife for $69 I would not have purchased it. Even at that price you are paying mostly for the name. The knife functions well other than cutting through that tough layer between fat and muscle on meat. The level of workmanship is good and the design functional.For me, personally, I just didn't like it's feel so I gave it to a friend that that sort of thing was not important.

I have a complete set of the Wusthof Classic line of knives and decided to buy a set of these cheaper Wusthofs for my vacation property. I have been very impressed with how well they work. I've owned them for several months now and they work very well. I am an avid cook but since these are in the vacation home they don't get used nearly as often as the classics I own at home. I wouldn't buy these over the Classic line but if I was just starting out in life or not an avid cook and needed something affordable, these are the perfect knives for the price.

Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer
I used my Vacu Vin about three times before the handle broke off, and contacted the company through their website about a replacement handle. After two weeks I received no response and emailed them a second time.This time I received a hasty response as follows, "I have responded back to you 2 weeks ago and told you that we do not have extra pineapple slicer handles nor do we offer a warranty on this item."
As far as the three times that I was able to use the slicer, it sometimes worked nicely, and sometimes mangled the pineapple. There was always a lot of wasted fruit with this device since it is made to accommodate smaller pineapples as well as larger.
Save your money on this uni-tasker and practice your knife skills. Or if you really want one, America's test kitchen just recommended the Oxo ratcheting pineapple slicer on their recent TV episode. It looks wonderful and far superior to this piece of junk. Plus, Oxo gives you a lifetime satisfaction guarantee--and I've taken then up on this multiple times.
UPDATE: Only after notifying them of my intention to post a review with my experience, I received an email offering to replace the device.

Received this knife promptly and securely wrapped. My wife had been complaining that her Gerber knives which I bought 30 years ago were no longer doing their job.
