It's a little expensive compare to other bamboo cutting boards in local supermarket, but good quality and perfect weight (not too heavy).

I read some places that when you buy cheap bamboo cutting boards that splintering can be a problem, but I didn't think it would be a concern upon receiving the item before any usage.

To try and rectify the problem, I washed it thoroughly with soap and warm water, dried completely, and finished with two generous coats of bamboo oil.

It seemed to diminish the amount of visible splinters, but to be fair I haven't used the cutting board since. I will give it a try with some dark-colored vegetables as a "trial" and see if it is good or not. Hopefully my mind will change and my rating will go up.

I found online for an extra-large cutting board, and this is the one I found with a reasonable price. It is nice and looks beautiful. The only consideration is that bamboo feels soft when I cutting something on it.

We bought this bamboo cutting board from Target and within about six months the bottom side had mold visibly spreading just underneath/inside the surface (permeating the board). Such as it is, we'll now be investing in an Epicurean cutting board instead, which will be more sterile and maintenance free. Aside from the mold, this was a great cutting board for the short time we used it, and looks nice on a counter top. Just be sure to take special care in thoroughly air drying it after cleaning and perhaps using a special treatment to prevent the setting in of mold/bacteria. That's only my guess as to preventing this issue, though.

This set is stamped metal. The gauge is heavy but Henckels is pushing the limits of how light they can get away with lightening the stock and portray it as Henckels Quality. I am reluctant to use the fork to lift a 20 pound turkey or roast. I believe the fork will bend under the weight. A well made forged carving fork will easily withstand that kind of application.

I need to remember this set is priced under $20. The knife has an interesting kind of serration. It isn't the usual wavy serration but a fine toothed cut. When I used it on a roast beef last weekend the blade tended to saw the meat rather than cut or slice. I must say I WAS able to cut clean, thin slices using the knife. I also should mention the serrations are cut into the blade on one side only. I used a very fine diamond wetstone to lightly hone the other side before carving. The honing did improve the slicing through the meat.

The knife feels good in the hand when slicing. It would have been nicer to have a blade a couple of inches longer though.

The set is wonderful for the price point (under $20). If you are like I am, though (a serious cook/chef), you would be happier to wait to save up for a high quality forged carving set (like a Lampson-Sharp brand for example). This set isn't really up to the Henckels name quality reputation.

good product. This is the only skimmer I can find that is close to the "seamless" (between the handle and the body). Even skimmers from Fissler and WMF are not seamless. This one is not as shiny as Fissler or WMF skimmers though.

The name says it all "Zwilling J.A.Henckels".

You will have this product for the rest of your life.

Its more expensive then the rest of the similar products.

But the price justifies the quality. Great!

Wilton Silver Beaded Cake Knife and Server Set

When I ordered this cake serving set with the hope of using it for my wedding, I loved it! When it arrived, though, I was disappointed to see that the handles are plastic, not metal like they appear in the photo. I don't know how durable they would be, and was worried that the metal blade would end up breaking apart from the plastic eventually. I also felt like the plastic handles made them feel cheap. If you're looking for cute, functional, and a good deal, it's perfect, but it's not a good option for a keepsake set, in my opinion.

I was ready to order these, since we have lost about 6 of our teaspoons and dinner forks. Replacement.com does not have those items. However, I then read reviews of the set with extra serving pieces, and people said they were "cheesy." When I noticed the stainless was only 18/1 (1 being the percent of nickel) I realized that they would look a lot different from mine, which are heavy, and excellent quality. If this is what you can afford, buy them, but they will not feel heavy in your hand and the big difference is the amount of nickel. Luckily, mine were from Costco, and actually were priced very low for the quality.

I wish that I could find a set of the version of this pattern with the 18/10 quality! Hampton is a good brand.

You get what you pay for I guess. Obviously, will not hold up over time. I regret making this purchase.

Fagor Michelle B. 3-Piece Prep Cutlery Set

Over all, I'm happy but not thrilled with these knives. They are reasonably sharp, but not super sharp. The color looks like the photo online, which is good, since I love that color. These knives are slightly smaller than I would like if these knives were slightly longer, I would like them more. My main complaint however is that the blade covers do not fit snuggly nor consistently. The covers fit adequately on two of the three knives (not snug, but adequate), but the cover is very loose on the other one. It is so loose that if I pick the knife up out of the drawer, the cover will fall off of its own accord. Not a great safety feature in my opinion. I thought I would use these knives more often for slicing fruit and vegetables, but I wind up using my large Oneida knife 90% of the time, even for smaller jobs like fruit. That is probably because the Oneida knife is sharper and also because, if the fruit or veggie does wiggle a little bit, the knife is still long enough to do the job. In the future, I will probably pay a little more for one knife that is the same size or slightly larger than the largest knife in this set, rather than rely on this set of knives.

I have purchased 2 of these sets. Like it so much I bought another for a gift. Excellent quality for the price.

I guess I was expecting too much from an inexpensive knife set. These really disappointed me. One of the three knives actually felt sharp, the other two were dull feeling right out of the package. They feel cheap. The color is nice, but I think I actually would have preferred if the blade had been a different color than the handle.

I am a fan of Michelle Bernstein, and have found Fagor to make quality utensils and cookware, so I thought I would give these a try. The quality was good for the price. Cigar Tool / Cutter / Wine Opener / Saw Blade - New

I bartended for 15 years, so maybe i should have known nice wine keys are not $10, nor are good cigar cutters. It looks great, but the key's angle in use is poor and the screw does not pivot far enough to get the cork out (tried 3 different bottles. Cigar cutter is poor. More crush than cut; the foil knife would work better to cut cigars. If you want something for the guy that shows up to a party uninvited with wine and a cigar it will work. if you want to use it yourself 3-4 times a year maybe? it simple does not function well as a tool period. it's $10 but i love the look and IF IT DID WORK WELL i could have payed $60 and would have thought it a deal.

I love the concept, one tool to open wine and cut cigars! I can usually never find a corkscrew or a cutter when i need one so having a spare of each seemed like a win win. My friends loved it and I was a satisfied customer for several months. However, just recently one of the pins fell out of the handle allowing the cutter to come all the way out. The item was cheap and I've had it for a few months so I didn't seek a replacement or anything but it just seems like it should have lasted longer than ~4 cigars and maybe 10 bottles of wine.

Seville Classics Expandable Bamboo Cutlery Drawer Organizer

We have 2 of these and are quite happy with the appearance and size. It's not the sturdiest, but then again, we don't throw our utensils into the drawer and hardly will need to take this out of the drawer again. Given that, it should last. We've owned 1 for a year and recently purchased a second one for another drawer.

I give this 4 stars as the packaging in the box is surprisingly sparse. Usually, deliveries from Amazon are packaged well and we rarely get damaged goods from them. This time it also wasn't damaged, but I think we were lucky. There was only a thin layer of packing paper between the box and the tray. Amazon should've shipped in a slightly larger box so they can properly pad the tray. Amazon has a good return policy, but who wants to bother bringing it back to UPS.

Side was broken off when it arrived. Rather than go through the trouble of sending in back I glued it back on, that worked fine. Later the other side came apart. Ugh!

I found this exact same item at my local Home Depot for $15. I liked the bamboo look, it seemed sturdy, and I loved that it was expandable. When I got it home and put my utensils in it, though, I found that each compartment took up way too much space. The middle compartments (the ones that are fixed) are far too wide to simply hold a set of spoons or forks. They could have fit five compartments where there are three across, thus allowing you to put all of your utensils in those middle compartments and to save the two fixed upper compartments and the expandable compartments for other kitchen tools. My silverware set comes with two sizes of forks, two sizes of spoons, and butter knives, as do most silverware sets, I believe. With the set up of this tray, I have to fill up all of the fixed compartments with my basic utensils, leaving me only the two expandable compartments for anything else like measuring spoons, etc. Because the tray itself is also very large, there's not really any other space left in my drawer where I could add another small tray to help with organization. Overall, if a drawer organizer is going to be this large and take up a whole drawer, it should come with more compartments to really organize the things most people keep in their cutlery drawers. I give it two stars because while it didn't work for me, it might work for someone who needs an organizer for drawer that won't contain a typical silverware set. I would give it more stars because of this possibility, but as others have mentioned, it's a bit flimsier than I expected once the expanders are pulled out.

I bought this knife because I got sick of paying so much for sushi at restaurants, that I'd figure I'd try my hand in making my own sushi. I tried cutting the sushi with a chefs knife that I had in my block at home, and it just wasn't cutting it right, the sashimi was falling apart and I was becoming frustrated with just how slow I had to cut in order for it to work. So, I bought this little guy and voila, it's cutting through fish like butter. It does feel a little cheap, but it's holding together very nicely. I think the blade must be high in carbon because the knife is very light. I'm not a serious "knife person" who needs very expensive knives that require a lot of maintenance, this knife works very well though in my opinion.

R & M International Oyster Shucker

I'll never shuck by hand again. This opens the oyster with some force and then you just cut the attached parts from the top and bottom of the shell. No more worries about getting cut. With a thicker gauge metal and longer handle, this would be perfect. All others I found were so much more expensive that I wouldn't buy them unless I was going to use for restaurant quantity production. Very happy with my purchase!

Update: after owning it for a while, I find that some oysters are too difficult and I nearly bend the metal lever trying to open an oyster. I'm still glad I bought it, but I'm dropping the rating from 5 to 3 stars.

Very disappointed...very flimsy! Broke after about a 10 oysters. Won't hold up to even the lightest of uses.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Pro S Stainless-Steel 8-Piece Knife Set with Block

after seeing the 7 piece set listed in consumer reports as their number one choice overall, I started to explore the market, online, at ebay, and then at amazon. I placed this set in my "basket" when they were $299, and this is an 8 piece set, with the extra santoku knife not listed in the 7 piece set that consumer reports listed. Well, checking back every day or two, I noticed that the set had suddenly dropped to $165. It doesn't take one long, when you have checked around, to recognize a good deal when you see it. I jumped on it. It took them 4 days before they shipped it, was worried that they were having second thoughts about the price, especially since the day after I ordered it, they raised the price back up to $299. But then, they arrived. I don't use or need the block, as I prefer the magnetic knife strip, by MIU, which I also got here on amazon. It holds them off the counter, so taking no counter space, and is much more sanitary than what could accumulate in the knife slots on the block. These knives are beautiful, VERY sharp, well balanced, and its nice considering that I no longer need to think about knives from now on. Go for the quality, as it is cheaper in the long run than cheap knives (or anything), and when you see a good sale, jump before they change their mind!

Though this doesn't say Twin Pro S that's what you're buying. Chadwick at OneCall was very responsive and did his homework answering my questions. Zwilling is hands down the best knife I ever owned. I'll be back for more and most likely from OneCall. One proviso on the knife set this particular set does not include long blades. Read the dimensions carefully to make sure the blade length is what you're looking for.

These knives are lighter than I expected, not so they feel cheap but nearly as light as a ceramic of the same size. Terribly sharp, the steel does a great job on knives of lesser quality, I have not yet had to sharpen any of the Zwilling knives. The paring knife snapped off perpendicular to the edge while cutting a small block of Jarlsberg. I have returned the knife to the manufacturer for replacement. Will let you know how that goes. These are lovely knives, so far I am pleased...if my paring knife gets replaced.

Deglon 4-Inch Grapefruit Knife, Stainless Steel

Certainly there's only so much you can say about a grapefruit knife. I have used a few over the years and the ease with which I am able to separate the fruit from the rind with this one stands out. The knife is sharp enough and angled in such a way that it takes very little effort to work around each individual section. It's dishwasher safe, small, but feels sturdy in the hand. I have no reason to believe I will need a replacement for many years to come. Comes recommended if you need one!

I was surprised it was possible for a grapefruit knife to be markedly better than any I had used before. This one has a thin but strong blade with a serrated edge that cuts through a grapefruit like butter.
